FREE REFUNDS AND RETURNS TRACKER
FREE REFUNDS AND RETURNS TRACKER what your returns are really costing you
A £60 refund does not cost £60. You lose the postage out, the fee the processor keeps anyway, the postage back, the time to inspect it, and sometimes the item itself. This log counts all of it, then tells you the return rate at which each product stops being worth selling.
Three sheets, no macros, a month of returns already worked through.
WHAT’S INSIDE
The cost that never shows up in your sales report

Every return, properly costed
Outbound postage, the fee kept, return postage, handling and any write-down on stock that comes back damaged. Record the reason and the condition and you find out whether you have a sizing problem, a courier problem or a copy problem.

Your break-even return rate, product by product
Every product has a return rate at which it stops making money. High-margin items absorb more than you would expect; cheap ones absorb far less, because the cost of handling a return barely falls with the price of the thing being returned.

The number that is twice as big as you think
Returns cost you cash, and they cost you the profit those sales would have made. In the worked example the cash is under £500 and the real impact is over £1,100. Measuring only the money that left the bank shows you less than half of it.
