Etsy Payout Reconciliation Workbook
From what the buyers paid to the money in your bank, one deduction at a time, with a journal that has to balance and whatever will not tie isolated rather than absorbed.
Because Etsy takes its fees before it pays you, so the deposit is never your turnover and every month there is a gap to explain.
Who this workbook is for
Profitable sellers who still have weeks where the money looks wrong, and cannot see why.

The bridge, in the order it actually happens
Item value down to expected deposits, one line at a time, with the ten common reasons a month will not tie listed underneath in the order worth checking them. Every yellow cell comes off the Etsy payment account for the month, and the bank figure comes off the bank.

A journal that has to balance
The same month expressed as double entry, pulled from the bridge so there is nothing to retype. Total debits and total credits both come to the item value the buyers paid, whatever the bank actually sent. If they do not, something was mistyped, and the sheet says so rather than letting it through.

The line that was never yours
If you sell digital downloads, Etsy is the deemed supplier and collects the VAT on those sales itself. That money passes through your figures without ever belonging to you. It is not income and it is not your VAT to pay, and treating it as either will put your return out.
