Inside IR35 Take-Home Calculator

Inside IR35 the rate is usually the cost to the fee-payer, so employer National Insurance comes out of it before you see anything. This runs the same contract both ways.

Outside keeps this much more

Inside: deemed payment

Inside: income tax and employee NI
Inside: you keep

Outside: corporation tax
Outside: dividends
Outside: dividend tax
Outside: you keep

Three things worth knowing

The deemed payment solves exactly: the payment plus employer National Insurance on it equals the fee. So a higher headline rate inside is not the same money as outside.

Dividend rates for 2026/27 are 10.75, 35.75 and 39.35 per cent. Comparisons using 8.75 and 33.75 are out of date and overstate the company advantage.

Being inside IR35 is not a penalty. It is being taxed as the employee the working arrangement says you are.
