Break-Even ROAS Calculator
Break-even ROAS is the return below which your ads are quietly losing money, however good they look in the dashboard. It is one divided by your contribution margin, and it comes straight from your price, costs and fees.

Two caveats worth keeping in view: ad platforms claim credit generously, so a reported 3x is usually less in cash terms; judge against blended ROAS, total revenue over total ad spend. And this is per-order arithmetic: repeat customers can justify a lower first-order ROAS, but decide that with eyes open, not as a default.

The workbook version runs the same numbers for up to eight products side by side. Products share an ad budget but rarely share a margin, and a blended ROAS target that is right on average can still lose money on half the catalogue.

Company law allows accounts to run for 18 months; corporation tax never allows an accounting period longer than 12. Here is how the split is drawn.
The associated companies rules get more involved once a group has layers. Sub-subsidiaries, dormant holding companies and short accounting periods, worked through in a single example.
An acquisition partway through the year still counts as an associated company for the whole accounting period. What that does to your thresholds, and to your tax bill.
